Deltarune's Switch 2 Exclusive Found in Secret Room

Special Room and Other Exclusives for Switch 2

As revealed during the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, Deltarune is coming to the new console. This version will bundle Chapters 3 and 4 along with several exclusive features designed for the next-generation hardware.

According to a Fangamer newsletter from Deltarune's creator, Toby Fox, the Switch 2 edition will introduce a unique room that utilizes the mouse-like functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox explained, "We've created a small SPECIAL ROOM that takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS SIMULTANEOUSLY, an experience only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!"

For players on other platforms, this unique room will still be accessible, though it will use a completely different control scheme. Players will also have the option to transfer their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2 to the new full release.

Future Deltarune Chapters Will Be Free

The newsletter also confirmed Deltarune's price, which is set at $24.99. This purchase includes the initially released Chapters 1 and 2, alongside the new Chapters 3 and 4. Chapter 1 first launched in 2018, with Chapter 2 following in 2021. While these initial chapters were free, it had been previously indicated that Chapters 3 through 5 would be paid content.

However, Fox has now announced that all future chapters will be added as free updates. This means a single purchase grants access to all subsequent chapters at no extra cost. He stated, "My hope is that as we complete more chapters, you'll feel the game offers an incredible value."

Additionally, the game's soundtrack will be available for purchase on Steam for $14.99. The release of Chapters 3 and 4 will add over 150 new songs to the game. Music from future chapters will also be included for free, reinforcing Deltarune's commitment to delivering substantial value through free post-launch content.

DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 is scheduled for release on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Switch 2. It will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. For the latest news and updates on the game, be sure to read our article below.
