Xbox Leaks Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Release Date

Author: Nora Nov 28,2025

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is set to launch on September 30—at least, that's the date the Xbox App was showing interested gamers over the weekend.

If you check now, you might see a placeholder release date of December 31, 2025, displayed on the Xbox app's Legacy Kollection store page (which is exactly what appeared when I looked this morning). But for a brief window yesterday, users spotted a different date—either September 29 or September 30, depending on their region.

As some Reddit users speculate, an official announcement will likely come during the next Evo weekend, the yearly gathering centered on fighting games, scheduled for August 1 in Las Vegas. It's possible the release date went live slightly ahead of plan before being quietly reverted to the placeholder.

Information on Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection came out last month. Key points include confirmation that every arcade and console title in the set supports online multiplayer with rollback netcode, plus the promise that more surprises are still under wraps.

In addition, the compilation will take players through Mortal Kombat’s evolution with behind-the-scenes content and interviews.

According to an official description from the studio, "Digital Eclipse's interactive documentary format showcases how Mortal Kombat transformed public perception of video games. By digitizing real actors as player sprites in a martial-arts fighting spectacle, the game captivated fans, stunned reviewers, and established a franchise that has flourished for over three decades. Get insights straight from the original creators—Ed Boon, John Tobias, John Vogel, and Dan Forden—plus exclusive interviews, rare concept art, vintage promotional assets, and archival video clips.”
