Foretales is a narrative-driven adventure and deck-building game now available on Android. Initially launched for PC in 2023 by Alkemi and Dear Villagers, its mobile release is being handled by Plug In Digital.

Set in a world where every card can shape the destiny of entire kingdoms, Foretales emphasizes storytelling and exploration over roguelike mechanics or repetitive grinding.

You step into the role of Volepain, an anthropomorphic shoebill thief plagued by dark visions after retrieving a magical artifact for a client. As Volepain, your decisions create branching narratives and lead to multiple possible endings.

Your hand is built from cards representing the unique abilities of Volepain and his companions. Use them to overcome puzzles and engage in turn-based card combat.

Foretales blends resource management with tactical card play, challenging you to resolve conflicts using diplomacy, stealth, or force. Navigate tricky situations by solving puzzles, avoiding guards, or persuading characters—all while monitoring your resources.

Your reputation—whether built on fame or infamy—affects how others perceive you. Earn trust through good deeds, or let your dark reputation intimidate foes into fleeing. In some cases, presenting a stolen warrant might scatter bandits without a fight.

The game features a fully voice-acted cast and beautiful hand-painted visuals reminiscent of a storybook. Its whimsical, living world is something you can see for yourself in the video below!
