Catching Nickit in the Wild in Pokemon GO

One method to get Nickit in Pokemon GO is by catching it in the wild. During the Deep Depths event, this Dark-type Pokemon will appear uncommonly. Keep a close watch on your radar in the bottom right corner of the screen to avoid missing a wild Nickit encounter.

Hatching Nickit From an Egg in Pokemon GO

Nickit can also hatch from 7 km Eggs during the Deep Depths event. To help trainers who can’t walk extensively, the hatch distance for Eggs placed in an Incubator during the event is reduced by half.

Getting Nickit From Field Research in Pokemon GO

Completing the Deep Depths Field Research task—defeating two Team GO Rocket Grunts—rewards an encounter with Nickit. If this seems challenging, you can purchase the Premium Timed Research Ticket to speed things up.

The Deep Depths Premium Timed Research Ticket, priced at $1.99, provides two guaranteed Nickit encounters. The first comes after defeating one Team GO Rocket Grunt, and the second after finishing all research tasks.

How To Get Thievul in Pokemon GO

As with most evolved Pokemon in Pokemon GO, Thievul cannot be found in the wild. You’ll need to collect 50 Nickit Candy to evolve a captured Nickit. Using Pinap Berries when catching Nickit doubles the Candy received, helping you gather enough before the event ends. You can also set Pokedex notifications to alert you when Nickit appears nearby.

How Long Is the Deep Depths Event in Pokemon GO?

To add both Nickit and Thievul to your Pokedex during the Deep Depths event, note the event duration. Starting on March 19, it runs until Monday, March 24, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time.

With a full weekend available, it’s a great opportunity to visit popular spots and use Incense. Soon, you'll encounter plenty of Nickit and can plan to add Thievul to your roster.
