Demand Exceeds Available Inventory

Nintendo Japan has officially postponed the general release of the Nintendo Alarmo alarm clock to an unspecified future date. Originally scheduled for February 2025, the launch was delayed due to production and inventory constraints. Currently, there's no confirmation about potential impacts on other markets, where public availability remains planned for March 2025.

As an interim solution, Nintendo will implement a pre-order system exclusively for Japanese Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Pre-orders will open in mid-December 2024, with shipments beginning in early February 2025. The company will announce the exact pre-order start date at a later time.

Introducing Nintendo's Gaming-Themed Alarm Clock

Initially revealed and launched last October, the Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock featuring iconic sounds from Nintendo franchises including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and Ring Fit Adventure, with additional sounds promised through future updates.

The device first became available worldwide at Nintendo's physical stores and through online purchases (requiring a Nintendo Switch Online subscription). Its unexpected popularity prompted Nintendo to discontinue open online sales and implement a lottery system. Physical stock completely sold out across Japanese Nintendo stores and the New York Nintendo retail location.
