The Samsung S90D is the current-generation 2024 model. A new "S90F" model was announced at CES 2025 but has not yet been released. This TV features Samsung's proprietary quantum dot (QD) OLED panel. QD-OLED panels are brighter than traditional OLEDs while retaining the exceptional color accuracy, wide color range, and expansive viewing angles for which OLED technology is famous. Compared to a standard LED LCD TV, an OLED TV delivers superior image quality, near-infinite black levels, a near-infinite contrast ratio, and near-instantaneous response times.

Beyond its OLED technology, the Samsung S90D includes all the features desired in a premium gaming TV. It has a native 120Hz panel that can be overclocked to 144Hz, along with four HDMI 2.1 ports capable of delivering 4K at 120Hz for PS5 or Xbox Series X consoles. The S90D also supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). This makes it a particularly good match for the recently released PlayStation 5 Pro, which can run more games in native 4K at 120fps quality mode compared to the standard PS5, which often relies on upscaled 4K in performance mode.
