Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 faces another delay, with its release now slated for October 2025.

This latest schedule shift, while smaller than previous ones, was quietly mentioned in a recent update video from publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The launch is now a few months later than the initial aim for the first half of the year, but it comes with the assurance that core development is complete.

"The game is currently in a finished state," explained Executive Producer Marco Behrmann. "Our focus is now on bug fixes, stability, and performance optimization to ensure we deliver the best possible experience at launch."

Though this new delay is another setback in the game's long and troubled history, the brief update video included some positive news. The Chinese Room has expanded the game's content, narrative depth, and character development since its last major preview. The studio also promises that the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the final story. However, while development diaries have kept fans informed, an official social media post noted that updates will become less frequent moving forward.

Even casual observers know the narrative-driven Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced numerous challenges over the past decade. It was first announced in 2019 by original developer Hardsuit Labs, targeting a Q1 2020 release. A delay to late 2020 followed that same year, which was just the beginning of a series of postponements.

A reschedule to 2021 came in mid-2020, followed by another delay and layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. The development path ultimately led to a major change in 2023, with The Chinese Room taking over development and targeting a 2024 release. After one more delay, fans can now expect to play the game this October.

It remains to be seen if this sequel to the 2004 cult classic will finally captivate players this fall, but The Chinese Room appears confident. Paradox Interactive has also hinted that a successful launch for Bloodlines 2 could lead to "someone else" taking on the development of Bloodlines 3.
