Warriors: Abyss Launches Today - A Roguelite Twist on the Musou Formula

Following closely on Dynasty Warriors: Origins' release, Koei Tecmo unveils another musou-style game with a fresh approach. Warriors: Abyss reinvents the formula as a roguelite featuring beloved Warriors series characters, available now across multiple platforms.

A New Challenge Awaits Warriors Fans

Showcased during PlayStation's State of Play, Warriors: Abyss tasks players with building a dream team to combat endless enemy hordes. The isometric perspective takes inspiration from action RPGs like Diablo while incorporating roguelite elements similar to Hades.

Players will lead their warriors against legions of hellish foes, with today's trailer revealing familiar faces like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang joining the battle.

According to PlayStation's official blog, the game features progressive character recruitment that expands your tactical options. Players can field seven warriors simultaneously from an initial roster of 100 distinct heroes available at launch.

Expanding the Warriors Universe

Koei Tecmo has confirmed ongoing content updates, beginning with Dynasty Warriors' Jin kingdom representatives. The developer hints at subsequent character waves, possibly including crossover fighters beyond the Warriors franchise.

Warriors: Abyss launches today for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Nintendo Switch owners can join the fight when the game arrives on February 13, 2025. Early adopters before March 14, 2025 will receive bonus Dynasty Warriors-themed costumes.
