Xbox fans can finally dive into some of the latest Final Fantasy titles—including a surprise release of Final Fantasy 16 today.
Later this year, this winter, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will also arrive.
After a two-year wait, the sixteenth mainline Final Fantasy is now available on Xbox Series X/S, having first launched on PlayStation 5 in June 2023 and on PC in September 2024.
Final Fantasy 7 originally launched in 2020 for PlayStation 4, with its Intergrade upgrade coming a year later to PC and PS5.
So, Xbox fans have waited a long time for these games, but their arrival this year suggests that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will follow not too far in the future.
"Its compelling story, rich characters, and immersive world-building rank among the best the series has to offer. The innovative Active Time Lore system could set a new standard for how story-driven games keep players engaged," IGN noted in our Final Fantasy 16 review.
"[It] occasionally falters with tedious filler and convoluted additions, but it still breathes exciting new life into a classic and stands strong as a top-tier RPG," IGN wrote in our Final Fantasy 7 Remake review.
