Enjoy scanwords and crosswords crafted by our author.

Our second Sloword app is now available. You can access it directly from the home screen by clicking the scanword image, or find it in Settings under "Other Apps." Experience a refreshing, contemporary take on classic crosswords.

Russian scanwords are truly a worldwide phenomenon. No other language features such a wealth of literary questions, witty humor, or topics reflecting current global events—all found in everyday crosswords. The Russian people cherish their language, honoring words as something of great value.

The app offers a wide variety of scanwords—both easy and challenging, with photos, traditional clues, or associative prompts like “one word” or “one word, two words.” Each issue includes one English-Russian and one “holey” scanword—you’ll quickly see why it’s named that. A friendly character from our cheerful family greets you on every page. Come join the fun!

All scanwords are free for readers. This annual collection includes 52–53 issues, each with 20 scanwords. A full year’s worth takes only about 50 MB on your phone—images are small and text is lightweight, because we respect your storage space.

No internet is needed to solve puzzles once issues are downloaded. A new issue is released every Friday. If notifications are enabled, you’ll receive a weekly reminder at 12:00 local time. The app automatically downloads new issues, and you can also manage magazines individually or download them all at once via Settings.

Key features—including full access to scanwords—are free for readers. Advertising supports the app. Each page has one narrow banner, plus an optional interstitial ad before starting a scanword. Ads never interrupt progress, and watching rewarded videos gives you free hints.

Every reader can choose to remove ads: a) disable them permanently, b) subscribe for ad-free access with unlimited hints, or c) purchase hints in bulk. All options are available in the Shop.
