29 (sometimes called 28, with slight rule variations) is a South Asian trick-taking card game where Jacks and Nines are the highest cards in each suit.

Typically played by four players in fixed partnerships (partners facing each other), it uses 32 cards from a standard deck. The suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades) each contain eight cards ranked: J-9-A-10-K-Q-8-7. The goal is to win tricks with high-value cards.

Card values:

• Jacks: 3 points each
• Nines: 2 points each
• Aces: 1 point each
• Tens: 1 point each
• Other cards (K, Q, 8, 7): 0 points

This totals 28 points. Some variations add a point for the last trick (hence the name "29"), but many modern players omit this.

Traditionally, Twos, Threes, Fours, and Fives (removed from the deck) serve as trump indicators, and Sixes are used for scoring.
