Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku? Want to challenge friends or compete as a team? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version of the classic puzzle game. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before starting, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players must solve simultaneously. Every player receives the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, selectable in the options:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points.
• Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers: Correct numbers are only visible to the player who placed them. Multiple players can earn points for the same correct number.

Time-Outs:

Incorrectly placed numbers result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable in options), preventing the player from making further moves while others continue.

Scoring:

Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct number. Incorrect numbers deduct half the points you'd gain for a correct placement.

Winning:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. If "Show Opponent's Correct Numbers" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by making fewer mistakes.

Team Play vs. Individual Play:

Team play allows two teams to compete. Join a team (1 or 2) upon entering a game. At least two players per team are required. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/colors are shared among teammates, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle provides tools:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to empty squares. Clicking a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares (including solved ones).
