6 Cartoon Network Games Disappear

Warner Bros. Discovery's sudden removal of several Cartoon Network and Adult Swim games has sparked widespread fan outrage. Without explanation, titles including Steven Universe: Save the Light and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time have vanished from digital storefronts like Steam and the Nintendo eShop.

At least six games have been delisted, leaving players unable to legally purchase these popular titles. This action is linked to Warner Bros. Discovery's cost-cutting measures, mirroring previous decisions to shelve films and remove content from streaming services. A similar delisting event occurred in March 2024, affecting several Adult Swim indie games. While some were reinstated following public backlash, others were not, leading to this latest wave of removals.

As reported by Wario64 on Twitter, the December 23rd delisting affected at least five games across multiple platforms. These include Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest, Adventure Time: Magic Man's Head Games, OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes, Steven Universe: Save the Light, Steven Universe: Unleash the Light, and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time. Steam listings for these games simply state they are "no longer available for sale after Dec. 23rd, 2024," attributed to Cartoon Network Games or Adult Swim Games.

Delisted Cartoon Network Games:

  • Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest
  • Adventure Time: Magic Man's Head Games
  • OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes
  • Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time
  • Steven Universe: Save the Light
  • Steven Universe: Unleash the Light

It's noteworthy that some Cartoon Network games, such as Cartoon Network Journeys VR and Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake, remain available. The soundtrack for OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes is also still for sale. However, Warner Bros. Discovery, Cartoon Network Games, and Adult Swim Games have yet to provide a reason for these removals.

Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest, initially released in April 2014, is the oldest game affected. Other titles were released in 2018 (Steven Universe: Save the Light, OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes) and 2021 (Steven Universe: Unleash the Light). The delisting of Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, particularly, has angered fans, as it contained the canonical ending to the show's fifth season. This lack of communication and the removal of beloved titles without warning has drawn significant criticism from the gaming community.
