Microsoft has announced that several titles will be departing from its Xbox Game Pass subscription service on May 15, 2025. A total of eight games will be removed, including "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons," "Jurassic World Evolution 2," and "Little Kitty, Big City."
Xbox Game Pass is an expansive online gaming platform available on both Xbox and PC, offering subscribers the ability to stream games directly on various smart devices and consoles. Depending on the subscription tier, users can enjoy new game releases on their first day, as well as access a vast library of high-quality games, which can be played with friends across console, PC, or cloud. The eight games mentioned are part of this extensive catalog that will soon be leaving the service.
Games leaving Xbox Game Pass in May are:
- Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
- Chants of Sennaar
- Dune: Spice Wars
- Hauntii
- Jurassic World Evolution 2
- Little Kitty, Big City
- Planet of Lana
- The Big Con
Following the departure of these games, Microsoft is set to unveil Wave 2 of the May 2025 Game Pass lineup.
In related news, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members received a new feature earlier this month: the ability to stream certain games directly to their consoles without downloading them. This was announced via an Xbox Wire post, detailing that Ultimate members can now stream games from the Game Pass catalog and selected owned games on Xbox Series X, S, and Xbox One consoles through cloud streaming. Previously, this feature was available on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, and Meta Quest headsets, but its extension to consoles marks a significant enhancement.
For those disappointed by the news that "Grand Theft Auto 6" has been postponed to May 2026, there's good news: "GTA 5 Enhanced" is currently available on Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass for PC. Notably, this marks the first time the enhanced version has been offered on PC Game Pass, providing an exciting alternative for fans eager to revisit the iconic game.
