Arrowhead Teases New Game after Helldivers 2 Success

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of last year's Helldivers 2, is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to solicit fan input, sparking a flurry of suggestions.

Community ideas ranged from a Smash TV remake to projects reminiscent of Star Fox. Pilestedt confirmed that a Smash TV remake has been internally discussed, and also mentioned a Star Fox-inspired title within the "rail game" genre as a possibility.

While specifics remain confidential, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The studio's next project faces high expectations, given Helldivers 2's success as a standout title of 2024.

A recent update for Helldivers 2 has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. The Omens of Tyranny expansion, a surprise release at the 2024 Game Awards, has been well-received.

This update has delighted players, introducing the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps. Furthermore, with rumors of a Killzone crossover in the works, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
