Ubisoft's latest addition to its renowned stealth-action open-world series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, has finally arrived, taking players to 16th-century Japan. With over 30 games released under the Assassin’s Creed banner, we focus on the mainline entries—from Desmond Miles' initial journey as Altaïr in 2007 to Naoe and Yasuke's adventures in Shadows, the 14th core installment. Here, I’ve ranked these mainline games based on my personal enjoyment, creating an IGN Tier List. Take a peek at my rankings:

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remains my top pick, nestled in the S-tier. Its blend of island exploration, engaging ship combat, and vibrant characters make it the quintessential AC experience for me. It's joined by Assassin’s Creed 2, the game that truly launched the series into the spotlight. In the A-tier, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla surprises some, but I adored its Viking-themed combat and the Orlog minigame. Alongside it, Unity stands out with its breathtaking recreation of Revolutionary Paris, still stunning a decade on.
