Atelier Resleriana: Global EOS Announced for Forgotten Alchemy Game

Another mobile game has announced its end of service (EOS), and this time it's Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have confirmed that their RPG will soon be shutting down, but this closure applies only to the global version. The EOS date for the global version of Atelier Resleriana is March 28th, 2025, coinciding ironically with the Japanese version's 1.5th anniversary celebration. At this point, Japanese players will be advancing into Chapter 22 (Part 2), while global players will be concluding their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1).

The in-game purchase system has already been disabled, but players can continue to use any remaining Lodestar Gems until the game's final day. Koei Tecmo has committed to rolling out new content and events leading up to the shutdown.

Adding another layer of irony, the global version just celebrated its first anniversary on January 25th, marking a bittersweet milestone.

Why Is It Shutting Down?

The developers have cited their inability to maintain the game at a satisfactory level for players as the reason for the shutdown. Indeed, the game struggled to leave a lasting impression on its audience. Within a few months of its global launch, players voiced frustrations over the gacha system, despite the game's appealing main characters. The gameplay and monetization strategies fell short, and the issue of power creep further deterred players.
