Attention all Sims enthusiasts, the notorious Burglar is making a comeback! As part of the latest update for The Sims 4, available on PC and console, the iconic Robin Banks is set to re-enter your virtual lives. Known for her nocturnal escapades, she typically targets homes under the cover of night when everyone is asleep, but don't let your guard down—she's been known to pull off a heist even when Sims are awake. Be vigilant!
To fend off this crafty thief, your Sims can equip their homes with a burglar alarm. If Robin triggers it, the police will swiftly arrive to apprehend her and return your stolen goods. Even without an alarm, a quick call to the police can save the day. Alternatively, if you're feeling brave, you might opt for some vigilante justice. The choice is yours!
The Burglar's return to The Sims 4 comes over a decade after the game's initial release. While these burglary events are relatively rare, thrill-seekers can increase their frequency by activating the Lot Challenge Heist Havoc.
"We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe," The Sims' team expressed. "A special shout out to our full team for making this a reality. Robin Banks isn’t just ready to rob your Sims’ houses—she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims' 25th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos Robin Banks will bring to your households."
The Sims 4, now a decade old, and the entire Sims series, celebrating its 25th anniversary, continue to thrive. Last year alone, The Sims 4 attracted over 15 million new players. According to EA's Q2 earnings report from late last year, the game, which was initially premium, took four years to reach 20 million unique players. Following its transition to free-to-play in 2022, it saw an impressive surge, gaining 31 million new players immediately and reaching a total of 85 million by May 2024. As for The Sims 5, there are currently no plans in the works. Plum!
