Larian Studios Prepares for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 with a Stress Test
Larian has initiated a stress test for the upcoming, substantial Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate 3. This pre-release test aims to identify and resolve any remaining issues before the official launch. The stress test is currently underway, with Update 1 already addressing various bugs, crashes, and scripting problems.
Limited Access
Participation in the stress test is limited to selected players. Those not involved in the testing phase must wait for the full release of Patch 8 to experience the improvements and new content. Update 1 includes fixes for inventory issues, improved Steam Deck screenshot functionality in Photo Mode, enhanced pose responsiveness, refined cross-play, and numerous crash fixes. For a detailed changelog, consult the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.
Patch 8 is anticipated to be a major update, including platform cross-play and over twelve new subclasses (such as the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter). The highly-anticipated Photo Mode will also be included.
Unleash Your Inner Photographer with Photo Mode
A sneak peek video showcases the extensive customization options available in Photo Mode. Accessible during gameplay, combat, and even multiplayer (for the host), Photo Mode allows for precise character posing, camera control, and the addition of post-processing effects, stickers, and frames. While pose manipulation is restricted during dialogues and cutscenes, post-processing effects remain available. Further tutorials are planned to help players maximize Photo Mode's creative potential.
