On October 24th, 2024, Caleb initially posted on Reddit, sharing his prognosis (7-12 months, possibly less than two years even with successful chemo) and his heartfelt wish to play Borderlands 4 before it was too late. His plea resonated deeply with the Borderlands community.

The Reddit post and subsequent online support caught the attention of Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, who responded swiftly on Twitter (X), initiating contact with Caleb. Within a month, Gearbox fulfilled Caleb's wish.

A GoFundMe campaign established to assist Caleb in his cancer battle has already surpassed its initial goal of $9,000, currently exceeding $12,415. The story of his Borderlands 4 experience has further amplified support for his cause.
