How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Once you've navigated through the tutorial in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and unlocked the expansive open world, your next step is to find the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. A conversation with him will kickstart The Lion’s Crest quest. He'll present you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll have to gather the necessary materials on your own, but you can craft the weapon at any blacksmith's forge.
The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution
The riddle you receive goes like this:
“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”
To unravel the riddle, head to Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle via the northern gates and continue north into the forest.
Follow the road and keep your eyes peeled on the left side for rocky formations with narrow crevices. Navigate through these crevices to discover a cave that contains a chapel. Inspect the cross on the rock adjacent to the chapel to secure the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, along with two treasure maps that will guide you further in your quest.
Map 1
Follow the road that led you to the chapel westward until you reach a crossroads. From there, venture north into the woods to locate a wolf den. Search the trees just above the den to find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.
Map 2
The second map directs you to the small outpost at Vidlak Pond. Head behind the fisherman’s house and look for a significant rock formation along the cliffs. Ascend to the rocks to discover a chest next to a cross.
Map 3
For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov and proceed to the tavern before exiting the settlement. Cross the two bridges towards Tachov, but right after the second bridge, veer onto a small path leading towards the river and forest. Follow this path to a hill where a large tree awaits. Examine the tree to find bones and a bag with another piece of the armour.
Map 4
The fourth and final map will guide you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Scan the area for rocks topped with a cross, where you'll find the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.
