The latest Capcom Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase delivered a wealth of information on several upcoming Capcom titles. Key announcements included new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and extensive coverage of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release

PlayTargeting a 2026 release, Onimusha: Way of the Sword promises compelling characters, a new protagonist, and engaging enemies. The game's setting, Edo-era Kyoto, will feature historically accurate locations. The developers aim for "ultimate sword fighting action" with satisfying combat. The protagonist, wielding an Oni Gauntlet, will battle Genma, fueled by the souls of defeated foes. While challenging, the difficulty will be balanced for players of all skill levels.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny – Remastered in 2025

PlayA remastered version of the 2002 classic, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, is slated for a 2025 release, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's arrival.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 – Arkveld Awaits

PlayThe second Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta will introduce the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging quest. Other additions include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, and online features like Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first beta can be transferred. The beta will run:

  • Thursday, February 6 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 9 at 6:59pm PT
  • Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 16 at 6:59pm PT

PlayCharacter data transfers to the full game (February 28th release), but progress won't carry over. Participants receive a special Pendant.

Monster Hunter Wilds – Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters

The showcase revealed a new story trailer featuring the Iceshard Cliffs, home to new monsters: Rove, Hirabami, Nerscylla, and Gore Magala. Further details on Arkveld were also shared.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16th Launch

PlayCapcom Fighting Collection 2 launches May 16th, 2025, featuring Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.
