Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 boasts a roster of unforgettable characters, yet Esquie, the game's endearing giant companion, stands out as a potential mascot. Fans might be thrilled to know that Sandfall Interactive, the game's developer, is addressing concerns about fraudulent merchandise while also teasing the creation of an official Esquie plush.
In a recent post on X/Twitter from the official Expedition 33 account, Sandfall Interactive highlighted the emergence of "suspicious" websites selling Esquie plushies. The studio issued a stern warning: "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed. Many of them are using AI-generated artwork to advertise, and we strongly recommend against purchasing from these sources. They could be scams."
On a more positive note, Sandfall confirmed its plans to develop official Esquie plushies, urging fans to remain patient. "In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!" the studio encouraged.
Players familiar with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 can understand the high demand for an Esquie plushie. For those yet to embark on the adventure, Esquie is introduced as a giant helper in Act 1, serving both as a travel companion and a method of overworld navigation. His charm and utility draw comparisons to Baymax from Big Hero 6, explaining the excitement around a potential plush version.
While a quick Google search reveals both unofficial sites and discussions about Esquie plush sellers, fans eager for the authentic product from Sandfall and Kepler will need to wait. There's no word yet on whether the official plush will feature any unique elements, such as being filled with wine.
In other news, Sandfall Interactive recently rolled out patch 1.2.3 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which included balance adjustments for Maelle's Stendhal ability. Additionally, French President Emmanuel Macron commended the game, lauding its developers as a "shining example of French audacity and creativity."
