Pearl Abyss remains committed to self-publishing Crimson Desert. In a statement to Eurogamer, the developer confirmed its previously announced independent publishing plans, emphasizing ongoing collaboration with various partners. They clarified that no release date has been set, and any articles suggesting otherwise are purely speculative. A playable build will be shown to media this week in Paris and to the public at G-Star in November.

Previous reports from a September investor meeting indicated Sony's attempt to secure Crimson Desert as a PS5 exclusive, potentially excluding Xbox for a period. However, Pearl Abyss deemed self-publishing a more lucrative strategy.

While a definitive platform list and release date are still pending, a PC, PlayStation, and Xbox launch is anticipated around Q2 2025.
