This marks the first time I’ve seen an RTX 4090 gaming PC priced below $3,000 in months. GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards are trending upward in price again, with standalone cards costing at least $2,000 from legitimate vendors. Building your own DIY PC might not be as cost-effective as you’d expect, especially when paired with the convenience of an all-inclusive warranty from a prebuilt option.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC boasts an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The 14th-gen Intel Core i9-14900KF is the pinnacle of Intel gaming CPUs and a powerhouse for productivity. Despite its heat output, it’s cooled efficiently by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The RTX 4090 stands as the most potent GPU available today. No other card from NVIDIA or AMD comes close. A Note on Alienware’s New “R16” Desktop Chassis

The R16 represents Alienware’s 2024 desktop design, shrinking by 40% in volume compared to earlier models. It features a straightforward airflow pattern, drawing air in through side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm front fan, then exhausting via a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. A 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted atop these fans. Some configurations lack the liquid cooling, but we typically exclude those from reviews since Alienware’s liquid cooling solution offers superior performance to its stock air cooling. Notably, Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in appearance and design.
