Deltarune's Console Testing Progresses Smoothly
Exciting news for fans of the Deltarune series! Toby Fox, the creative mind behind both Undertale and Deltarune, has shared an update on the console testing for Chapters 3 and 4 of his latest project. In a recent post on his official Bluesky account, Fox reported that the testing phase is moving forward with fewer bugs, though there's still a significant amount of work ahead. Notably, the testing hasn't yet extended to the PlayStation 5.
One of the most anticipated features is the ability to transfer saves from the demo versions of Chapters 1 and 2 to the main game on consoles. Fox mentioned that they've recently acquired the necessary technology to implement this feature and expressed optimism about its success, stating, "I hope it works!" This advancement promises a seamless transition for players who have already delved into the earlier chapters.
With the beta testing showing promising results, fans can look forward to the release of Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 in 2025, as confirmed by Fox himself. This timeline adds to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the game's next installment.
Introducing a New Character: Tenna
Amidst the rigorous testing and development, Toby Fox continues to engage his community with playful updates and hints about the game's content. Known for his humorous and self-deprecating style, Fox shared a light-hearted anecdote about a minigame he's working on for Deltarune. He jokingly quoted his family and friends describing it as "a cry for help because your game is not out," which sparked speculation among fans that this minigame could be part of the upcoming Chapter 5. Deltarune is set to span seven chapters in total.
Adding to the intrigue, Fox mentioned a new character named Tenna, who has yet to appear in the game but was first introduced during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign in September 2022. A friend of Fox's expressed missing Tenna after playing Chapter 3, to which Fox humorously responded, "man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh." This confirms Tenna's role in the upcoming Chapter 3, heightening fans' anticipation for the new content.
Deltarune serves as a spiritual successor to Undertale, retaining many of the original game's mechanics while introducing a fresh narrative and new characters. Players will follow the adventures of Kris, Susie, and Ralsei as they embark on a quest to save their world.
