Get Your Pet
Upon launching *Diablo 4* Season 7, immediately visit the nearest town's Wardrobe. Claim your pet! While they don't fight, they'll diligently collect gold and materials, freeing you to focus on combat and loot.
Grab Your Mercenaries
If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, head to the Den and recruit mercenaries. Solo players can have two, significantly easing leveling and combat. Plus, building Rapport unlocks additional rewards.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Starting on Normal difficulty, follow the green leaf icons on your map to complete the Season 7 questline. This introduces new mechanics like Headhunt zones and Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, along with new Witch powers. While not overly lengthy, it involves puzzles and primarily focuses on farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This is also the most efficient path to reaching level 60. Consistently farm Headhunt zone bosses, collect Favors, and upgrade your Witch powers simultaneously.
Unlock Your Class Power
Conveniently, completing class-specific priority quests is unnecessary if already done on a previous character (requires logging in with that character on the Eternal realm first). For example, if creating a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a pre-existing Rogue who's completed these quests. Your new Season 7 Rogue will automatically unlock their class power upon reaching the required level.
Headhunt Zones
While in Headhunt zones, actively pursue Whispers. Four zones are always active; prioritize smaller, denser zones for faster mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these Whisper quests: Fugitive Shepherd (escorting animals) and Fugitive (recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots). Exchange 10 Grim Favors for a cache at the Tree of Whispers (or with the Raven of the Tree spawning in each Headhunt zone).
Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, purchase and upgrade Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot (obtained from killing Rot enemies). Prioritize damage upgrades for significant passive damage boosts. Note that some powers require interacting with Forgotten Altars found in dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds (Torment 1 difficulty). Draughts of Whispers increase the chance of encountering these altars.
Rootholds
Rootholds, a new dungeon type, are accessed using Whispering Woods (obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests). Similar to Infernal Hordes, they offer rogue-lite modifiers affecting loot quality. Open Exposed Roots for loot; modifiers influence their quantity and quality. Save keys for Torment 1 for optimal Ancestral loot.
Occult Gems
Craft Occult Gems with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These superior gems slot into jewelry but are expensive, requiring significant Restless Rot and Heads (dropping from Roothold bosses and Fugitives; Draughts of Whispers increase drop chances). Focus on these later in the game.
Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Continue incorporating Pits (for Glyph leveling) and Nightmare Dungeons (for Glyphs) into your routine. Farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance Uniques.
