Disney Lorcana's 'Fabled' Set Debuts September 2025

Disney Lorcana has unveiled groundbreaking updates for the trading card game's future. The ninth set, titled Fabled, will launch on September 5, 2025, introducing revolutionary Iconic and Epic card rarities along with highly anticipated A Goofy Movie content.

The announcements coincided with details about the eighth set Reign of Jafar (launching June 6), a new Collection Starter Set reveal, and updates about the Disney Lorcana World Championship. Fans were also treated to a tantalizing Darkwing Duck teaser.

Fabled Introduces Game-Changing Card Rarities and Competitive Rotation

The Fabled set introduces several landmark features:

• First-ever Iconic rarity cards (beginning with Mickey and Minnie)
• New Epic rarity tier between Legendary and Enchanted
• A Goofy Movie franchise debut
• The inaugural card rotation affecting competitive play

Iconic Cards will become Lorcana's rarest collectibles, with only two appearing per set. The initial Mickey and Minnie carousel-themed cards promise to be highly sought-after.

Competitive formats will see the biggest shakeup since launch, with Core Constructed excluding cards from Lorcana's first four sets. However, Ravensburger reassures fans:

"Infinity Constructed will allow use of all cards, and Fabled will include reprints like Winnie the Pooh (Hunny Wizard) with competitive legality."

The Collection Starter Set provides newcomers a perfect entry point with four Fabled boosters, exclusive promo card, and premium collector materials.

Reign of Jafar Continues Villainous Narrative with Co-Op Expansion

Launching June 6, the eighth set deepens Lorcana's evolving storyline:

"Jafar possesses the Hexwell Crown, corrupting Archazia's Island with traps and illusions. Jasmine and Rapunzel must unite to overthrow the vizier."

The set introduces key characters including:

• Bambi (Prince of the Forest)
• Jafar (High Sultan of Lorcana)
• Magic Carpet (Phantom Rug)

Accompanying the release is Illumineers' Quest: Palace Heist - an innovative cooperative boxed experience pitting four players against Jafar's forces.

Future Sets Revealed Including Darkwing Duck Confirmation

The roadmap extends beyond Fabled with:

• Whispers in the Well (Q4 2025) featuring potential Gargoyles content
• Darkwing Duck officially confirmed for 2026 release

World Championship Coming to Walt Disney World

The inaugural Disney Lorcana World Championship on June 28-29 will crown the game's first global champion. The event will be streamed live via Twitch.TV/DisneyLorcana with expert commentary.
