Disney Mirrorverse EOS Announcement: End of Year Shutdown

Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile game that brought together an epic mashup of Disney and Pixar characters in a brand-new universe, has announced its End of Service (EOS). Kabam, the developer behind the game, has set December 16th, 2024, as the date when the servers will shut down. As of now, the game has been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases have ceased. If you're currently enjoying the game, you have approximately three more months to immerse yourself in its world before it disappears.

Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse is an action RPG where players battle alongside reimagined versions of beloved Disney and Pixar characters. For those still playing, Kabam recommends completing the final storyline before the game's permanent departure. Initially, the announcement of the game sparked significant excitement, particularly among Disney enthusiasts. However, a prolonged two-year early access beta phase and the absence of regular content updates led to dwindling player engagement.

Despite its creative and graphically stunning character designs, Disney Mirrorverse struggled to reach its full potential. The game's shard collection system was notoriously grind-heavy, making it challenging to fully upgrade characters without significant financial investment. The EOS announcement was particularly jarring because just a week prior, Kabam had introduced new story content and added Cinderella as a playable character. This sudden decision has left many players feeling blindsided.

This isn't the first time Kabam has abruptly ended a game. Last year, they discontinued Transformers: Forged to Fight, and before that, a spin-off of their popular game Marvel Contest of Champions was also terminated.
