Elden Ring Coming Off Strong This 2025

While the live-action film may still be some time away, the Elden Ring franchise continues to thrive in the gaming world. Since its initial launch in 2022, Elden Ring has sold over 30 million copies worldwide by April 2025, as celebrated by the official Elden Ring X (Twitter) account. The game's success is further underscored by its over 324 Game of the Year awards, making it one of the most acclaimed titles in video game history. The 2024 DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, also garnered significant attention and praise.

FromSoftware isn't slowing down with the franchise. In 2025, gamers can look forward to two new releases. The first is Elden Ring Nightreign, a co-op action game set in the realm of Limveld, where players assume the roles of Nightfarers tasked with stopping the rise of the Nightlord. This spinoff will offer a fresh multiplayer experience while retaining familiar elements from the original game. Nightreign is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 30th.

Additionally, the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is set to launch on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. This complete edition will include the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, four new armor sets, and a customization feature for the three variants of Torrent the Spectral Steed. While not a launch title for the new console, fans can anticipate enjoying Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2 soon.
