Engineers to Care for Grogu in New Mandalorian-Themed Millennium Falcon Update

Star Wars Celebration unveiled thrilling new details for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed update for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, set to launch alongside the new movie. This exciting update will introduce the ability for Engineers to care for Grogu, and it will also include Coruscant as a new planet to explore. Guests will embark on a choose-your-own-adventure-style storyline that spans across Tatooine, Bespin, Endor, and the bustling metropolis of Coruscant.

Mark your calendars for May 22, 2026, as this update takes you on a unique path separate from The Mandalorian & Grogu movie. Din Djarin and Grogu will be central to this new narrative, where Hondo Ohnaka uncovers a deal on Tatooine involving ex-Imperial officers and pirates. This discovery sets off a thrilling chase across the galaxy, where guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to track down the culprits and claim a bounty in a dynamic, galaxy-spanning adventure.

While full details are yet to be revealed, we do know that Engineers will have a significant role, as they will be responsible for looking after Grogu. What could be more exciting than that?

To delve deeper into what's in store, we spoke with Asa Kalama from Walt Disney Imagineering. He shared insights on the upcoming experience, stating, "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu. So, we think it's going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a little happy on the control panel. So, we love the idea of there being these fun little vignettes and moments where you're sort of on the comm with Grogu."

Regarding the choose-your-own-adventure aspect, Kalama explained, "There will be a critical moment in your adventure where you are strapped for time and have to make a lightning quick decision about which of our particular bounties we want to pursue. And that's going to be the sort of inciting incident that allows us to decide which are the different destinations we go to."
