Baldur's Gate 3's hidden depths continue to unveil themselves. Larian Studios' RPG is a treasure trove of secrets, many discovered by dedicated dataminers.
One such discovery, a previously unearthed dark ending, has resurfaced during testing of the game's eighth major patch. This ending allows the player character to forcefully remove and destroy the illithid parasite without harm. A subsequent choice presents itself: depart with companions, or leave them behind.
The community speculates that this ending will be fully implemented with the release of patch eight.
Recent layoffs at BioWare, the studio behind Dragon Age: The Veilguard, have fueled industry conversations. Larian Studios' publishing director, Michael Daus, has weighed in on social media, emphasizing the importance of valuing employees and advocating for leadership to shoulder the burden of restructuring instead of laying off significant portions of development teams between or after projects. He stresses the critical role of retaining institutional knowledge for future endeavors.
