Fans Crack Donkey Kong Banana Alphabet Pre-Launch

It seems Donkey Kong Bananza hides a secret language, and an eagle-eyed fan has already cracked its code before the game's release. Discover more about the mysterious banana alphabet and how this dedicated player managed to decipher it.

Donkey Kong Bananza's Secret Banana Alphabet Cracked

Ancient Monkey Scrolls

Donkey Kong Bananza hasn't launched yet, but a fan has already unearthed and decoded a secret banana alphabet. YouTuber 2Chrispy shared a video on April 27 titled "I Decoded the Ancient Monkey Scrolls of Donkey Kong Bananza," walking viewers through his process of unraveling the "Ancient Monkey Scrolls." This hidden system of banana-shaped letters was spotted across all the game's trailers, gameplay videos, and its official website.

While fictional languages in games aren't new—Nintendo famously created Hylian for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild—uncovering one before a game's official release is certainly rare.

This impressive feat highlights either the extreme dedication or the restless anticipation of Donkey Kong fans awaiting news. Although the alphabet's authenticity is still unverified, 2Chrispy's detailed analysis and meticulous methodology have convinced many in the community that his interpretation is spot-on.

The "Chip Exchange" Breakthrough

In his video, 2Chrispy explains how he began deciphering each letter of the "bananbet," starting with the phrase "Chip Exchange." When a player collects a Banandium Chip, a prompt reads: "Trade these for bananas at any Chip Exchange." By meticulously analyzing the game's trailers frame-by-frame, he searched for a "Chip Exchange" location, theorizing that its signage might hold the key.

He noticed the symbols on the signage matched the letter count of "exchange," and the repeating patterns aligned with letters like "e," supporting his theory. He then applied this approach to other symbols found in official screenshots and trailers, using a word-finder tool to solve the remaining puzzle.

While these findings remain speculative for now, the sheer effort in dissecting every piece of available game content is remarkable in itself. With fans eagerly awaiting more news, this discovery may inspire others to comb through every trailer and screenshot for more secrets.

Donkey Kong Bananza is scheduled to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, 2025. For the latest updates on the game, be sure to read our article below!
