Fortnite reverses its controversial decision about one of the skins

The iconic Master Chief, star of the Halo franchise and a beloved Fortnite skin, recently returned to the item shop after a two-year hiatus, much to the delight of fans. However, this joyous reunion was briefly marred by a controversy.

The original release of the Master Chief skin included a special Matte Black style, exclusively awarded to players using Xbox Series S|X consoles. For a considerable period, Epic Games advertised this style as permanently obtainable. Therefore, the abrupt announcement of its removal was met with significant backlash.

Some disgruntled fans even considered legal action, threatening a class-action lawsuit, believing the change violated established terms. However, Epic Games swiftly reversed course within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single match on an Xbox Series S|X console.

This reversal appears to be the most prudent decision, especially considering the holiday season. Spoiling the festive cheer with such a contentious move would have been ill-advised.
