Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, you're equipped to tackle operations with a pair of weapons, chosen from six distinct types. This allows for highly customizable builds to match your preferred playstyle. Each weapon type offers unique advantages, creating diverse combat strategies.

Three weapon types are melee, and three are ranged. All weapons are customizable, and you can switch them at any time with no penalty. New weapons are acquired through operations or purchases from Zakka in The Warren. While you can't choose your comrade's weapons, you have complete control over your own and your accessory's equipment.

Every Weapon Type in Freedom Wars Remastered

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks ideal for swift combat, targeting single enemies. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-swinging attacks dealing substantial damage. Well-placed attacks hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch you into the air at the end of combos. Slightly slows movement speed.
Polearm Attacks often involve charging through enemies, maintaining distance from incoming attacks. Charged attacks throw the polearm for high damage from a safe range.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, making them ideal primary weapons for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, allowing for strategic positioning and safe-distance shots.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage with low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Slows movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the high rate of fire compensates. Slows movement speed.

Note that your accessory doesn't consume ammo when using ranged weapons.
