The third 2024 LEGO Ideas review has concluded with two fan creations officially greenlit for production: a massive Godzilla model and a Tintin-inspired rocket set.
LEGO confirmed these selections in an official blog post, announcing that designer MattE720's Godzilla concept (submitted December 2023) will become a reality. While final specifications, pricing, and availability remain undetermined, this marks the first-ever LEGO Godzilla set coming soon.
LEGO's First Godzilla Set Arrives

This groundbreaking set draws inspiration from recent Godzilla films like Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. While the final product will differ from the fan submission, these modern interpretations served as the foundation for the approved design.
Though exact piece count remains unknown, early visuals suggest an impressive scale. LEGO previously established a benchmark for dinosaur builds with their 3.5-foot T. Rex model. Given that IDEAS sets typically target adult builders, we anticipate this will be a substantial 18+ collector's item.

The LEGO Ideas Approval Process
Every LEGO Ideas set begins as fan creativity. Concepts reaching 10,000 supporters enter review - a complex evaluation considering multiple factors, especially intellectual property rights. While original concepts like the Tuxedo Cat face fewer licensing hurdles, licensed properties require successful negotiations.
Several exciting Ideas currently under review include Monsters, Inc.'s Boo's Door, Planet Express Headquarters from Futurama, and even Microsoft Office's iconic Clippy assistant. The program continues bridging fan creativity with official LEGO products.
