How To Unlock 'Under the Straw Hat' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Before embarking on "Under the Straw Hat," you must first initiate the "In Vino Veritas" side quest, which you can start upon arriving in Kuttenberg. Head to the west side of the city where Casper Rudolf is offering free wine samples. Casper is seeking information to enhance his wine, and your task is to gather that information.

You have two pathways to proceed: you can directly approach Havel and impress him with your wine knowledge, or you can retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and study it to deepen your wine expertise. If you choose to meet Havel directly, ensure you're dressed in fancy clothes and are clean; otherwise, he won't entertain you. During your conversation with Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" as your answers. These responses are crucial to obtaining the information you need. Once you have the details, return to Casper and share what you've learned.

Access the Vineyard

With the information from Havel in hand, Casper now requires you to infiltrate the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to gather further details about the incense Havel mentioned. Trespassing in the fields is risky, so stick to the main road and approach the recruiter at the vineyard entrance. This conversation will unlock the "Under the Straw Hat" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Continue along the road, passing a guard to reach the estate, where you'll find Jerome sitting on a bench.

When speaking to Jerome, inform him that you've been instructed to report there. He'll provide you with the details about working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard

Your job at the vineyard begins the following day. After a good night's rest, return to the vineyard in the morning. To earn your pay, you'll need to move sacks to their designated spots and harvest plants like Thistle growing around the vines. If you're focused solely on the quest, you can bypass these tasks and head straight for the secret incense.

The incense is located in the wine cellar, accessible via the main building where you met Jerome. Be cautious, as entering restricted areas, even as a worker, can lead to trouble. You'll need either a lockpick or to steal the keys from Jerome to access the cellar. Inside, find a chest and take all the Sulphur Wicks it contains, completing the main objective of the quest. Additionally, you can collect seedlings for Casper in the same building to boost your rewards. Quickly gather five seedlings from a room across the building and exit to avoid detection.

If you decide to complete your work, meet Jerome at the end of the day to collect your wages. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and, if you managed to grab them, the seedlings.
