HP Slashes Prices on RTX 5090 Gaming PCs

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card remains nearly impossible to find as a standalone GPU; your best option is to purchase it pre-installed in a prebuilt gaming PC. HP is currently the only online retailer I’ve found offering an RTX 5090 prebuilt gaming PC under $5,000. You’ll need to carefully follow my setup instructions—HP’s estimated June 3 delivery date seems overly optimistic—but if you’re determined to own one of these cards, the effort is unavoidable.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

The Nvidia 50-series GPUs were officially unveiled at CES 2025. While Nvidia has prioritized AI enhancements and DLSS 4 technology to boost gaming performance over the previous generation, the RTX 5090 still stands as the most powerful consumer GPU on the market—even when considering only traditional raster performance. This card delivers a 25%-30% performance uplift over the RTX 4090 and features 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas**

"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially claimed the performance throne from the RTX 4090, though with less dramatic gains than past generations. In traditional, non-AI gaming, the RTX 5090 offers one of the smallest generational performance leaps in recent memory. However, in games that support it, DLSS 4 delivers substantial performance boosts—you just need to accept that 75% of the frames are AI-generated."

The Omen 45L is HP's Flagship Gaming Chassis

The Omen 45L is HP’s flagship gaming PC and, in our view, among the best prebuilt gaming systems available. It features HP’s largest chassis, equipped with four 120mm fans for optimal airflow and an additional 240mm to 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler for the CPU. This system comes with a generous 1,200W 80Plus Gold power supply and next-gen components including an Intel Z790 motherboard, Kingston FURY DDR5 RGB memory, and a WD Black M.2 SSD. The chassis itself combines steel and tempered glass with RGB lighting for a sleek, premium look—elegant without leaning into overt gamer aesthetics.
