New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

Exciting news for Disney enthusiasts: The Lion King ride, a new water attraction, is set to make its debut at Disneyland Paris with construction slated to begin in Fall 2025. This thrilling addition will be part of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. The Lion King-themed land promises to be a major highlight, featuring not only the water ride but also a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock, along with numerous dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more.

Disney Parks Blog has shared a captivating new concept image from the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal of grubs in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just one of many highlights of the ride, which will also feature a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than the one found on Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

While an exact opening date for The Lion King ride has not been announced, it is expected to open after the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. This ride will contribute to the expansion of Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's footprint.

In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will also include the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, where Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Rapunzel. Another exciting addition will be the first-ever attraction themed after the movie Up, described as a "spinning carousel" that offers a "bird's eye view of the park's stunning scenery."

Opening on May 15, 2025, World Premiere will be another star attraction at Disney Adventure World. This new park entrance will aim to recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza will be inspired by Broadway and the West End district, featuring theaters that will host shows such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
