This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the concluding chapter in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the final Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney seven years later.
Fans eagerly anticipated Revenge of the Sith, knowing it would show Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A key element was the fate of the Jedi, resolved through Order 66. This sinister directive, part of Emperor Palpatine's scheme, commanded Clone Troopers to turn against and execute their Jedi allies. With thousands of Jedi serving at the time, it was plausible that some escaped, beyond the few known survivors from the Original Trilogy.
In the years following, canon Star Wars stories have introduced numerous survivors of Order 66. Here, we rank the top 10 who have significantly impacted the Star Wars universe. Some survived only briefly, while others endured much longer, and a few have fates yet to be revealed. All these Jedi lived to fight another day after Palpatine issued the infamous command, "Execute Order 66."
For this list, we set specific criteria: characters must have been part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, whether as Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or Jedi Initiate. This excludes Force-users like Maul and Palpatine, and others like Jod Na Nawood who never joined the Jedi Order.
The inclusion of Asajj Ventress posed a challenge. Trained by Jedi Ky Narec on Rattatak and declared his Padawan, she never visited Coruscant or met the Jedi Council before Narec's death. Her subsequent turn to the Dark Side as Count Dooku's apprentice complicates her status as a Jedi. Thus, we consider her an honorable mention.
