How To Join the Baldur’s Gate 3 Stress Test & Try Crossplay

Baldur's Gate 3's highly anticipated crossplay feature is finally arriving with Patch 8! While a firm release date remains unannounced, a Patch 8 stress test in January 2025 will give select players early access. This test allows Larian Studios to identify and fix bugs before the wider rollout.

When is Cross-Play Available?

Patch 8, including crossplay, will launch sometime after the January 2025 stress test.

How to Participate in the Patch 8 Stress Test:

To be among the first to experience crossplay, register for the Patch 8 stress test via Larian's registration form. A Larian account is required. The brief registration process involves providing basic player information, including your preferred platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox). Selection isn't guaranteed, but chosen participants receive an email with further instructions. Feedback will be collected through forms and Discord.

The stress test also assesses the patch's impact on mods, making it worthwhile for mod users and developers to participate. Remember, all players in your group must register for the stress test to utilize crossplay during this period; otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release in 2025.
