It appears that some early gameplay footage of EA's highly anticipated upcoming Battlefield game has leaked online, following closed playtesting sessions. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz streamed footage from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest, which involved a select group of players trying out early versions of the game to assist developers in fine-tuning the experience. Although no clips remain on anto_merguezz's Twitch page, someone captured the footage and it has since spread across various platforms, with a significant presence on Reddit.

The leaked footage seems to confirm the "modern" setting previously hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other Battlefield titles that have explored historical or futuristic themes. Viewers get a good glimpse of intense firefights and a demonstration of the game's destructible environments. Fans have shown positive reactions to the footage, which is promising, especially following the lukewarm reception to Battlefield 2042's launch.

We already had some insights into what to expect from the next Battlefield after the initial official unveiling last month. It's confirmed that the new installment will feature the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, much to the delight of fans who missed this element in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.

EA has slated the next Battlefield game for release within their fiscal year 2026, spanning from April 2025 to March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more official reveals and updates from EA. With the leaks circulating, it seems EA may need to expedite their official showcases to keep ahead of any further leaks.
