Switch 2 Super Mario Kart World Bundle
Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle
- $499.99 at Best Buy
Opt for the Switch 2 bundle that includes Super Mario Kart World, and you'll save $30 compared to buying the console and game separately. Note that the console bundle comes with a digital copy, so if you prefer a physical game, you'll need to spend an extra $30 to get the standalone version.
Yes, the MSRP Is $79.99
When purchased alone, the game is priced at $79.99, which is $10 more than the standard price of AAA PlayStation and Xbox games this generation. While I understand that game development costs are soaring, I hope this higher price reflects the expansive nature and quality of Mario Kart World.
What Is Mario Kart World?
*Mario Kart World* promises to be the most ambitious Mario Kart game to date, featuring an open world reminiscent of the *Forza Horizon* series. In Grand Prix mode, you can seamlessly transition from one track to another after completing a race.
The game's tracks are dynamically affected by weather conditions and time of day, influencing visibility and traction. You can also venture off the designated tracks and explore "virtually everywhere," as stated by Nintendo. Each race accommodates up to 24 drivers, setting a new record for the series.
A new mode, Knockout Tour, challenges you to race across the open world, passing through checkpoints with specific placement requirements. Fall behind, and you're out of the race.
For a more relaxed experience, Free Roam mode allows you to drive anywhere in the world at your own pace, team up with friends, and capture memorable moments with in-game photography.
Stay tuned for more details during the Nintendo Direct on April 17. In the meantime, check out our hands-on preview of Mario Kart World for a deeper look.
