While Marvel Rivals remains a fresh release, players are already speculating about exciting future updates. Recent whispers about potential PvE boss battles sparked conversations about a possible PvE mode being imminent. However, NetEase has clarified that such plans aren't currently in motion—though haven't ruled them out entirely.

During this week's DICE Summit in Las Vegas, we asked Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu about potential PvE content. His response:

"Currently, we're not developing PvE modes, but our team is constantly exploring new gameplay concepts. If we identify a particularly engaging and enjoyable mode, we'd absolutely introduce it to our players."

Following this exchange, Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo chimed in to ask if I personally wanted PvE in Marvel Rivals—to which I responded affirmatively. Wu elaborated:

"We recognize some players would welcome PvE content. However, creating a robust PvE experience would significantly differ from our current offerings. Our developers are testing various approaches—perhaps something more casual—to determine what best suits our game."

For now, concrete PvE plans remain undetermined, though Wu hints at NetEase exploring potential "lighter" gameplay variations, possibly temporary events or similar concepts. The company remains tight-lipped about specifics.

Marvel Rivals continues receiving bi-monthly character updates, with Human Torch and The Thing joining the roster on February 21. In our interview, Wu and Koo also addressed speculation about a Nintendo Switch 2 version and whether they've intentionally planted fake hero leaks in the code—topics you can explore further elsewhere.
