Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Releases First Chapter

The highly anticipated manga adaptation of Atlus' Metaphor: ReFantazio has arrived! The first chapter is now available to read for free on MANGA Plus.

Atlus, in collaboration with Shueisha, presents this official manga adaptation illustrated by Yōichi Amano (known for Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony). While staying true to the spirit of the game, the manga takes creative liberties, significantly altering the initial storyline. The first chapter features new events, a revised encounter with allies, and the omission of certain game locations. Notably, the protagonist's name is officially confirmed as Will, aligning with the game's default name.

The next chapter is scheduled for release on February 19th, simultaneously with the Japanese version.

Developed by Studio Zero, led by Katsura Hashino (the visionary behind the Persona series), Metaphor: ReFantazio follows protagonist Will and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they embark on a quest to save the prince of Euchronia. The assassination of the king throws the kingdom into turmoil, leading to a unique succession process where the people choose their new leader. Will finds himself thrust into a situation far beyond his expectations.

The game's phenomenal success is undeniable. It achieved over one million copies sold worldwide on its launch day, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload to become Atlus' fastest-selling title. Critical acclaim followed, earning numerous awards, including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative at the 2024 Game Awards.
