How to Get Armadillo Scutes in Minecraft

Armadillos thrive in warm biomes and typically spawn in groups of two or three. To collect their Scutes, you need to approach them carefully, as they will roll into a defensive ball if you move too quickly. Here are the biomes where you can find Armadillos:

There are two primary methods to gather Armadillo Scutes:

1. Watch and Wait

Similar to how Chickens drop Eggs, Armadillos will naturally shed one Scute every 5-10 minutes. This passive method requires no tools or effort, making it a relaxed approach. However, if you're looking to protect multiple Wolves, this method can be time-consuming and less engaging.

2. Brushing

The more popular and efficient method involves using a Brush. Typically used for investigating suspicious sand or gravel, the Brush can also gently coax a Scute from an Armadillo. Each brushing yields one Scute.

In the Java Edition of *Minecraft*, an unenchanted Brush with full durability can be used four times on an Armadillo, whereas in Bedrock Edition, it lasts for five uses before breaking. You can repair two damaged Brushes by combining them, and if they're enchanted, use an Anvil to merge them and retain the enchantments. The Brush can be enchanted with Unbreaking, Mending, and Curse of Vanishing.
