Monster Hunter Wilds Lightcrystal Farming Locations

Lightcrystals are found by mining Mining Outcrops scattered throughout Monster Hunter Wilds. The drop rate is random, so persistent mining is key.

Here are the areas with Mining Outcrops:

  • Windward Plains: Areas 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 17
  • Oilwell Basin: Areas 4, 6, 7
  • Iceshard Cliffs: Areas 8, 16
  • Ruins of Wyveria: Area 5

Mining Outcrops respawn in approximately 15-20 minutes. Feel free to explore other areas while waiting before returning to a depleted location.

How to Use Lightcrystals

Once you've amassed enough Lightcrystals, head back to Gemma at Base Camp. She'll use them to forge or upgrade your equipment. Lightcrystals are needed for these items:

  • Guild Knight Sabers I
  • Dragon Perforator II
  • Dual Hatchets II
  • Triple Bayonet II
  • Iron Assault II
  • Iron Gale II
  • Chain Blitz II
  • Iron Accelerator II
  • Hyperguard II
  • Buster Sword II
  • Iron Hammer II
  • Metal Bagpipe II
  • Chrome Drill II
  • Iron Katana II
  • Iron Beater II
  • Ingot Vambraces
  • Thunder Charm III

Keep in mind that many of these items (excluding the Thunder Charm) will likely be surpassed by later equipment. Don't get too attached! Better gear is just around the corner.
