Capcom thrilled fans with a Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase today, unveiling an array of exciting content for the latest addition to the Monster Hunter series. The spotlight was on Title Update 1, set to launch on April 4, 2025, as a complimentary update for all Monster Hunter Wilds players. Alongside this, a variety of free and paid DLC will also become available. The update promises a new hub for socializing, fresh armor and cosmetic options to enhance your style, and a lineup of formidable new monsters to challenge.
We've now got a confirmed date and a wealth of details for Title Update 1 in Monster Hunter Wilds. Which part of this update are you most excited about? Share your thoughts below!
A New Hub For Hunters --------------------- The showcase kicked off with an introduction to the new endgame hub for hunting parties, the Grand Hub. This expansive area offers numerous activities including feasting together, arm wrestling, and enjoying the Diva's nighttime performances. There's also a fun Barrel Bowling mini-game where players can earn vouchers and other rewards through various in-game activities.
Unlock the Grand Hub by reaching Hunter Rank 16 and speaking with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
A major highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of Mizutsune, the bubbly monster known for its swift tail strikes and water jets. Players at Hunter Rank 21 or above can encounter Mizutsune in the Scarlet Forest by talking to Kanya for the quest, with new gear available from the hunt.
Additional Hunts on the Way
A new Event Quest will challenge players with Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a step above the usual Tempered fights. To participate, you need to be at least Hunter Rank 50, and successful hunters will be rewarded with new armor. Additionally, Zoh Shia will return in new quests, allowing players to fight it again after reaching Hunter Rank 50 and craft new armor from it.
Arena Quests
Speedrunners will enjoy Arena Quests, where they can compete for the fastest clear times. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, with pendants awarded for participation and achievement. Access these quests at the counter in the new Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, one of the most dedicated handlers, is getting new cosmetic options. Players can change her outfit through an appearance menu at camp, with one new outfit available for free. Complete a specific side mission to unlock additional options for Alma's glasses.
More DLC is on the Way
Alongside Title Update 1, expect a mix of free and paid DLC. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games will be free, while Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, available in the store or for those with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition, offers new stickers, outfits for Alma, and more.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
Look forward to additional Event Quests and Seasonal Events. During these events, the Grand Hub's appearance and available meals will change, offering limited equipment, gestures, decorations, and more. The Festival of Accord: Blossomdance kicks off on April 23, introducing pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom plans to bring back most previous events and quests.
The Roadmap Ahead
Here's a glimpse of the upcoming content rollout: Title Update 1 arrives on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance event on April 22. On April 29, face the challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau, and by the end of May, enjoy other new features and a Capcom collaboration.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a sneak peek at Title Update 2, expected this summer. While no specific date was given, a teaser image suggests the possible return of Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan, set to stir up excitement on the surface.
