Netflix's The Rise of the Golden Idol is launching its first downloadable content, The Sins of New Wells, for mobile devices. This expansion arrives on March 4th and will also be available on other platforms including PC and consoles. For mobile users, the DLC is entirely free as part of the Netflix Gaming subscription service.
What to Expect
Players can look forward to deeper mysteries, criminal investigations, and Lemurian supernatural elements. New Wells presents unprecedented urban challenges that surpass typical city problems. Homicide detective Roy Samson gets reassigned to the notoriously corrupt Ninth District, where lawful justice has effectively vanished.
Systemic corruption permeates every level of society, and criminal activity has become standard business practice. Teaming up with his new partner Cliff Savea, Roy investigates a string of violent crimes only to uncover evidence pointing toward a far more sinister conspiracy.
The Sins of New Wells introduces four completely new investigative scenarios to the game. Each case presents a complex web of criminal activity, deliberate deception, and unanswered questions. You'll methodically examine Following Orders, Trouble Unleashed, The Raid and Unraveling - determining who's being dishonest, identifying hidden agendas (practically everyone has them), and connecting scattered evidence into coherent explanations.
Your investigative toolkit includes interrogating frequently deceptive witnesses and solving elaborate puzzles. Be prepared - a pervasive atmosphere of collective madness hangs over New Wells that complicates every investigation.
Netflix Membership Benefits
The Sins of New Wells, the inaugural DLC for The Rise of the Golden Idol, becomes accessible to mobile players at 9 AM Pacific Time or 5 PM Greenwich Mean Time on launch day. Color Gray Games has confirmed this represents just the beginning of additional content planned for 2025, with at least four more DLC packages currently in development.
The Rise of the Golden Idol has established itself among the most distinguished detective games in recent years. Netflix subscribers can download the base game without additional cost through the Google Play Store.
