Nintendo Is Shutting Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp!

Breaking News: Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp to Shut Down!

You read that right! Nintendo has announced the end of service (EOS) for the popular mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, leaving many players surprised. What happened? Let's find out!

The End is Nigh: When is Pocket Camp Closing?

Online services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will officially cease on November 28th, 2024. If you're still enjoying your virtual campsite, make the most of these final days. Ironically, this closure comes just a few days before the game's seventh anniversary on November 21st.

This means no more Leaf Tickets, and no more Pocket Camp Club memberships. Auto-renewals for the Pocket Camp Club will stop on October 28th; existing memberships will not be refunded, but you'll receive a commemorative badge.

Stock up on Leaf Tickets before November 26th – that's your last chance. Prepare to bid farewell to the online community on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.

A Silver Lining: Offline Play Awaits!

Don't despair entirely! Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. While features like the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, the core gameplay will remain.

Your saved progress will carry over, allowing continued play without an internet connection. Expect more details on this paid offline version around October 2024.

Nintendo's Mobile Game Strategy

This closure follows a trend of Nintendo gradually phasing out its mobile games. Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost have already met similar fates, and Mario Kart Tour is currently in maintenance mode. Therefore, the shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp isn't entirely unexpected.

For those wanting to cherish the remaining time, download Pocket Camp from the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for our upcoming article on Netflix's Monument Valley 3.
